On April 18th 2009, the second Community Choirs Festival was held at Warwick Arts Centre. 27 Community Choirs were represented with 530 singers sharing an exciting and inspiring day of workshops, socialising and performing.
The morning was spent as a mass choir leaning English, Maori and African songs led by choir leaders Hilary Davies, Alice Robin, Chris Rowbury and Bruce Knight. There were some wonderful impromptu performances in the foyers during the breaks. The afternoon concert by the choirs for the choirs, boasted an eclectic selection of songs ranging from arrangements of familiar hits to songs from Nigeria, South Africa, Croatia, Chile and the Appalachians.
